....Je résume en trois mots ma fin de semaine… Ouf! Wow! Et surtout Merci!
Un 48 heures d’une grande densité et intensité spirituelle, émotionnelle et physique!
Un peu comme l’argile entre les mains du potier, nous avons été modelés par des exercices créatifs, renouvelés par la prière et les témoignages. Nous sommes repartis avec un nouveau zèle plein d’espérance!
Oui, en tant qu'artistes, nous avons part à l’acte de création mais notre don tire toute sa richesse de cette vérité: nous sommes créés par Dieu, à son image et à sa ressemblance!
Nous avons été invités à prendre part à une expérience de réflexion sur le sens de notre appel artistique. À travers des ateliers de mouvement, de chant, de théâtre et d’écriture, l'objectif était d'approfondir notre compréhension de soi en tant que témoin de l'Évangile, créé à l'image de Dieu; à réaliser le sens profond de notre baptême: tous appelés à être prêtres, prophètes et rois et comment nous pouvons vivre ces réalités concrètement et le partager dans le contexte de notre travail artistique.
Tout d’abord, félicitations à Alisha Ruiss d’avoir trouvé et réuni dans la complémentarité des animateurs/conférenciers/artistes (1) de très grande qualité qui nous ont chacun partagé leur vécu, leur foi et nous ont fait réfléchir en profondeur à travers les différents ateliers et temps de prière. Chacun d’eux nous interpellait dans l’une ou l’autre réalité de notre foi; ils nous appelaient à nous dépasser et à sortir de notre zone de confort en réalisant un exercice artistique méditatif particulier.

An intensive 48 hours of spiritual, emotional and physical density!
Like clay in the hands of the potter, we have been shaped by creative exercises, renewed by prayer and testimonials. We left with enthusiasm and full of hope!
Yes, as artists, we have our share in the act of creation. Our gift however derives all its richness from this fundamental truth: we are created by God, in his image and likeness!
We were invited to experiment and reflect upon our artistic skills. Through movement workshops, song, theater and writing, the goal was to deepen our self-understanding of the Gospel as witnesses, created in the image of God; to discover the inmost meaning of our baptism: all called to be priests, prophets and kings and how we can live these realities concretely and share it in an artistic work context.
First of all, congratulations to Alisha Ruiss for having gathered a team of animators / lecturers / artists (1) of very high quality, each sharing their experience and faith and making us reflect deeply through different workshops and prayer times. Each of them challenged us in either way of our faith; driving us to go beyond and out of our comfort zone by performing a particular meditative artistic exercise. ....

....J’ai eu la joie immense de découvrir et côtoyer des perles venant d’un peu partout du Québec et même des États-Unis! Tous se sont investis dans cette retraite chacun selon ce qu’il est dans la complémentarité des personnalités, des langues et des talents – mais en recherche, recherche d’un sens, du vrai, de la Vérité! Tous m’étaient étrangers, ils sont devenus des frères et des sœurs.
Cette réalité de communion que j’ai ressentie s’est incarnée particulièrement lors de l’exercice de théâtre. Je vous livre ici la courte méditation rédigée au cours de l’exercice d’écriture dans laquelle je partage mon expérience, qui a été pour moi et plusieurs d’entre nous un moment d’une grande intensité:

I had the great pleasure of discovering and interact with rare and high quality individuals coming from all over Quebec and even the United States! With diverse personalities, languages and talents, all invested in this retreat - and they all were in search for a meaning, something truthful, the Truth! All were foreigners to me, they became brothers and sisters.
I felt this communion particularly during the theater workshop. Here is a short meditation that I wrote during the writing period, which had for me and many of us a great impact: ....

«Elle était loin, timide, étrangère à moi.
Nous avions à peine articulé un bonjour depuis des heures.
Et je me retrouve devant elle, gênée, distante, quoique désireuse de percer le silence qui nous sépare.
Je discerne le reflet d’un brun profond au travers une vitre brisée; l’esquisse d’une âme qui transparait sous le regard intense qui cherche aussi à pénétrer mon armure.
À peine quelques secondes… un timide sourire… et je découvre un être, un prochain qui me tend la main.
Une contraction de la joue, un sourire, une étincelle dans les yeux, un désir de communiquer, de communier.
Le prochain se fait soudain proche : quelqu’un qui se dévoile sous mon regard!
Une belle personne que je découvre et qui se dévoile : aimée de Dieu, de Jésus, mon frère!
Il n’a suffi que de quelques secondes pour qu’une étrangère devienne une sœur…
Et que son regard reste maintenant imprimé sur mon cœur!»

"She was far away, shy, a stranger to me.
We had barely said hello for hours.
And I find myself in front of her, embarrassed, distant, though eager to break the silence surrounding us.
I detect the reflection of a deep brown through a broken window; the sketch of a soul shining forth under a penetrating look trying to get inside my shell.
Only a few seconds… a shy smile… and I discover a person, a neighbor who reaches out to me.
A cheek contraction, a smile, a sparkle in the eyes, a desire to communicate, to commune.
The neighbor is suddenly close to me: someone who reveals herself under my look!
A beautiful person that I discover: beloved by God, by Jesus, my brother!
It only took a few seconds for a stranger to become a sister…
And I will never forget her gaze, printed on my heart forever!"
