Leader's Prayer

Lord ,
They say I have nerve, initiative, vision. It flatters me and that worries me.

People wait for my move, or for me to say or do something. I feel very uncomfortable, and I feel obliged.

Sometimes I would like to stay at the back, yet running away would betray the urge that drives me. To lose it would be to lose purpose and direction.

It is you who draws me, who motivates me, who stirs up this flame at the service of the just cause.

People lean on me, but I trust in you.
